Hey—thanks for stopping by

(And yes… you just got Rick Rolled.)

If you scanned this QR code at the Sustainable Wedding Show, first of all: thank you for being curious. Second: we hope you appreciate a little humor in the middle of wedding planning chaos. If nothing else, at least you’ll be humming Never Gonna Give You Up for the rest of the day.

We’re Amber + Eric, the husband-and-wife team behind Sightglass Photo + Films, based in Portland, Oregon. We photograph (and film) weddings for couples who want their day documented honestly—without pressure, forced moments, or feeling like they’re performing for the camera.

If you’re the kind of person who:

Feels awkward being photographed

Doesn’t love being the center of attention

Wants their wedding to feel intentional, calm, and human

Or just wants photos that actually reflect what the day felt like

You’re probably in the right place.

Who we are (and why we’re a little different)

Unlike most husband-and-wife wedding teams, we didn’t start out working together.

Both of us had our own established wedding photography businesses, with years of experience, before we ever met. We met at a wedding industry networking event (very romantic, we know), became friends first, fell in love very quickly, and after a full wedding season decided to merge our two businesses into what is now Sightglass Photo + Films.

That means when you hire us, you’re not getting “one photographer and a helper.”

You’re getting two experienced professionals, each with our own strengths, perspectives, and problem-solving styles—working together calmly and intentionally.

Amber leans heavily into documentary storytelling—watching, anticipating, and capturing moments as they naturally unfold. Eric brings a clean, modern, fine-art approach to portraits, details, and composition. Together, we blend these styles so your gallery tells a full story: real moments, strong images, and photos that age well.

Our approach to weddings

We believe weddings don’t need to be loud, performative, or exhausting to be meaningful.

Our role isn’t to manufacture moments—it’s to notice them.

That means:

We don’t interrupt real interactions for the sake of photos

We don’t force emotion or over-pose you

We don’t yell instructions all day or turn your wedding into a photoshoot

Instead, we work quietly, intentionally, and with a lot of awareness.

We’re very good at time blocking and logistics, which helps the day move smoothly without feeling rushed. We coordinate closely with planners and vendors, watch the timeline, and adapt when things change (because they always do). Our goal is to reduce stress—not add to it.

Many of our couples are introverted, neurodivergent, or just very intentional humans. We communicate clearly, explain what we’re doing, and never assume you want or enjoy a certain kind of wedding experience just because it’s “traditional.”

What you can expect from working with us

From the first meeting to final delivery, we aim to be calm, clear, and dependable.

You can expect:

Straightforward communication (no sales scripts)

Clear expectations around timelines and coverage

Help building a realistic photo-friendly schedule

Space to be yourselves on your wedding day

We don’t believe great photos require stress, discomfort, or pretending. Some gentle direction is helpful—we’ll absolutely guide you when it makes sense—but we always prioritize your comfort and energy level.

A lot of couples tell us afterward that they barely noticed us during the day, but were surprised by how much we captured. That’s intentional.

Why we encourage a meeting (and why it’s not a sales pitch)

We don’t believe in high-pressure consultations.

A meeting with us is just a conversation—usually 20–30 minutes—to see if we’re a good mutual fit.

It’s a chance to:

Ask practical questions about coverage and timelines

Talk through what matters most to you

See if our communication style works for you

Make sure you feel comfortable around us

Comfort matters. You’re spending one of the most emotionally charged days of your life with your photographer nearby. Feeling at ease with them makes a real difference in how your photos turn out.

If we’re not the right fit, we’ll say so honestly—and we’re always happy to point you toward other vendors if needed.

A quick note about “perfect” weddings

You don’t need:

A perfect timeline

A massive guest list

A Pinterest-level aesthetic

Or every detail figured out

You just need a day that feels like yours.

We’ve photographed hundreds of weddings across Oregon—from city celebrations to backyard weddings, forest ceremonies, coastal elopements, and everything in between. Every wedding is different, and that’s exactly how it should be.

Ready to take the next step?

If this page made you feel:

Relieved

Seen

Curious

Or like “oh… this feels doable”

We’d love to hear what you’re planning.

You don’t need all the answers yet. Just enough to start a conversation.
